It was another very quiet drive around town, especially compared to yesterday. I drove through a few sprinkles on my way in but it never amounted to any problems during the commute. The worst accident was NB 25 at Alameda in the left lane that backed up traffic to the tech center.

Friday is graduation at CU. Expect heavy traffic WB on US 36 for the 8:30 a.m. ceremony and lots of people around campus most of the day.
I wonder if people ever listen. So for as long as I’ve been doing this job and covering flooding I keep putting out that warning, “don’t drive through high water”. Drivers do it anyway and it happened again Wednesday. We had the pictures of the guy who stalled out his car on the ramp from NB I-25 to WB 6th Ave. The car was in the water up to nearly the window with the lights still on and the windshield wipers still going. That was not the only one who tried it in a small car. I counted 5 others doing the same thing and having similar results. Then you gotta love the drivers of the bigger vehicles who blast through the high water shooting a wall of water 20 feet away. Look, I’m not above thinking like a man who thinks he knows better than everybody else. If I had a huge, high wheel based truck and saw high water and if I was alone I would probably do it too. Whenever I drive in bad weather I guess I always go back to my theory that it is better to be 5 minutes late than have to deal with the hassle of fixing a car or going to the hospital. Anyway, happy motoring.
