The worst accident happened at 5:20 a.m. on NB I-25 at 6th Ave. when a person was hit by a pickup on the highway. There were reports to police of a man on the side of the highway before he was struck. That person unfortunately died in the accident. All traffic was diverted onto EB 6th Ave. but traffic was backed up all morning long on I-25 and NB Santa Fe. Then there was a multi car accident SB I-25 right across from the fatal accident scene. That crash blocked 2 left lanes and added to the delay south from 120th Ave. All NB lanes reopened around 8:00 a.m. All the SB lanes reopened around 8:30 a.m.
