Jayson’s Traffic Summary for Wednesday

Filed under: Uncategorized — jayson luber @ 8:41 am

The biggest problem was in Wheat Ridge. CDOT was late in picking up the construction on west bound I-70 at Highway 58. There had been a full closures of the interstate this week during the overnight hours to work on the flyover ramp. The workers were looking at something leaking from the flyover and had to fix it before reopening the highway. The traffic jam grew back to Wadsworth and it was a long, slow delay for west side drivers. The highway finnaly reopened at 9:15 a.m.

They will try again to do that road work tonight. The highway will close both east and west bound starting at 9:30 going until 5:30 tomorrow morning. If they go late we’ll let you know.

Seatbelts and Getting Tossed

Filed under: Uncategorized — jayson luber @ 6:33 am

On Friday I covered 2 bad crashes. One on I-25 near Longmont when a driver going south skidded across the median and crashed in the north bound lanes. The driver was not wearing a seatbelt and was thrown out of the Jeep. The other crash was on south bound Wadsworth after C470. Again someone driving lost control and flipped over and once agian the 2 people inside were thrown out of the vehicle. Both, yea you guessed it, weren’t wearing their seatbelts. Now this is not a plea for people to buckle up but if you have ever seen one of these crashes or video from a rollover you would put it on everytime you drive. Even on short trips to the store. I wear it more because I don’t know what the other guy is going to do or for the time someone cruises through an intersection and crushes my car. My mother used to say she wouldn’t wear one because my dad refused to wear one and if he wasn’t going to survive a crash she didn’t want to either. That never made sense to me. Anyway, happy motoring.
